Merry Christmas. Today we’re offering up one of the most interesting phenomenon in graffiti, the “grilled out door.” A door, usually in an alley, so covered with graffiti it starts to resemble a Jackson Pollock. Boston has its share. Depending on your perspective, they might be the ultimate in urban blight or a fascinating record of the graffiti artists that have spent their time marking the city:

“LAB Boston and Proletariat want you to give the gift of art for the
holidays, so they are doing a one night only show with all pieces
$100 and under!

All art can be paid for with cash/credit card or check and you can
take it home that night!

Apparently, Graffiti is dead in Eastern Mass:

Sad as it might be to anyone who does appreciate a vibrant urban landscape, to which a certain kind of graffiti can contribute, all signs point to the downfall of a once-thriving graffiti scene in Eastern Massachusetts.

Long retired, JAYROC was one of the kings of the second wave of Boston Graffiti. Alongside MASS and DETECT, JAYROC was all city in 1986-87.
